WHat are clouds made of and what can they bring?

Clouds are made of water and ice plain and simple. But sometimes water can become polluted by chemicals and oils, this mixture can evaporate and condense like normal water but when it falls it becomes acid rain. Acid rain can damage monuments and plants. Acid rain is most dense in big cities.
Clouds can bring terrible storms such as tornadoes and hurricanes. These storms can cause serious damage to homes and building. Many people have died as a result of these. The safest thing to do is to get in a storm cellar and let it pass.
Some people chase storms for a living. I think they have an exciting job because i think storms are exciting. One storm chaser built a specially equipped vehicle that can drive through tornadoes.

How many different types of clouds are there?

Clouds are usually put into three groups, low middle and high. Low contains, cumulas and stratus. Middle contains alto cumulas and alto stratus. High contains cirrus, cirrocumulas, and cirrostratus. All three groups can contain Cumulonimbus, a very tall cloud.
When you see a storm it is usually not the high and middle clouds because they are so high up but it doesn't mean they can't form ice and rain. The clouds that mostly cause storms are in the low region, approximately 2-8 thousand feet.
What about fog? Is fog still clouds? The answer is yes fog is just a cloud that has lowered towards the ground. But it is still considered a cloud.

Why are clouds white?

Clouds are white because their water droplets or ice crystals are large enough to scatter the light of the seven wavelengths (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet), which combine to produce white light. Just like when you see a crystal with a light shinning through it and many colors come out the other side.
Just because a cloud is dark doesn't meen that it is going to rain. Some clouds are dark because the top of the cloud is casting a shadow on it's base others can be because they are in another clouds shadow. A cloud turns gray when it is about to produce rain (in most situations).
What is the worlds largest cloud ever spotted? The largest cloud ever reported was a toxic cloud that occurred in 1991. It reached 181 miles!

Image of cloud seeding

This is a picture of cloud seeding. This is what humans do to get rain to fall sooner.

Cloud Seeding

What is cloud seeding? Cloud seeding is the process of spreading either dry ice, or more commonly, silver iodide aerosols or salt into the upper part of clouds to try to stimulate the precipitation process and form rain. It gets heavier and falls to the earth.
